In just one decade since launching its first domestic tractor in 2016, Rostselmash has achieved a remarkable breakthrough in tractor production. Today, over 12,000 powerful and reliable machines produced by the company are working in the fields of Russia and neighboring countries. This young but rapidly growing business segment has delivered outstanding results over the years and has become an integral part of the country’s agricultural industry.
In August 2016, the first tractor fully assembled at Rostselmash’s industrial site rolled off the production line, marking the start of the company’s in‑house tractor‑building history in Russia. The initial production preparation in 2016 required adapting international approaches to Russian design documentation standards. A major milestone was the transition to domestically sourced materials, while maintaining the required strength characteristics for various field operations.
Over the past decade, Rostselmash has built unique expertise in the design and manufacture of key components. Konstantin Vorobyev, the company’s Technical Director, notes: “Tractor manufacturing is a major, promising direction that is very important both for our company and for the Russian agricultural sector as a whole.”
Rostselmash 2000‑series tractors have gained popularity among domestic and international customers. Farmers appreciate these machines for their high performance, fuel efficiency, and ease of maintenance. Their efficiency has been confirmed by production records: in 2018, a Rostselmash 2375 with a harrow cultivated 203 hectares in 14 daylight hours; and in June 2023, a 2400 model with an auto‑guidance system and a 14.9‑metre cultivator covered 494.9 hectares of fallow land in a single day.

To meet growing demand and expand the model range, a new high‑tech production facility with an annual capacity of up to 5,000 agricultural machines was commissioned in 2024. For the first time in 52 years of post‑Soviet history, a dedicated tractor plant was built from the ground up in the country. Today, this facility is a strategic manufacturing asset, and its capabilities continue to expand steadily.
Since 2020, the company has launched production of its own mechanical transmissions, introduced electronic control systems, and, since 2024, has started manufacturing key drivetrain components, including shafts and gears.

These technological advances have enabled the development of cutting‑edge tractor solutions. In 2025, the new Rostselmash 3580 model was unveiled—the most powerful domestically produced articulated‑frame tractor, equipped with the country’s first automatic transmission of proprietary design. At the same time, the Rostselmash 1000 series became the first conventional‑layout tractor manufactured in Russia. Prototypes of these machines are currently undergoing testing, and preparations for serial production are actively underway on the assembly lines.
Decade of Rostselmash’s tractor division proves the effectiveness of systematic effort: a commitment to in‑house engineering solutions has allowed the company to become a leading manufacturer of high‑power machinery, setting the direction for the development of Russian tractor building.
